ASTHMA CAMP

  
The Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), California Chapter was founded for the sole purpose of sending children with severe asthma to summer camp. Doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists volunteer their time to teach children how to manage their asthma, while they participate in outdoor activities that will not impact their breathing.

WHAT
Asthma Camp, for children ages 8 to 14, provides a week during the summer of fun and adventure. The camp promotes self-confidence and an understanding of ways to manage asthma through education.

WHO
Boys and girls who have been diagnosed with mild to severe asthma are eligible to attend.  

FEES
The camp is free, except for a $5.00 non-refundable application fee.

ACTIVITIES
Swimming, climbing wall, ropes challenge activity, basketball, arts and crafts, hiking, and asthma education.

TRANSPORTATION
Buses transport the children to camp.
