Breathmobile®
Helping Kids Breathe
|
|
|
The Breathmobile, an "asthma clinic on wheels", provides asthma
diagnosis, education, treatment and research for children with asthma.
This project was developed by the
California Chapter of the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America
(AAFA) to address the rising morbidity and mortality rates of asthma
in high risk disadvantaged children. The Breathmobile® reaches out to
this low-income and uninsured population who often receive care only
in emergency rooms.
|
|
Helene and Marvin Wernick, AAFA Board Members and Founders, presented a
check to David Altman (center) for new Breathmobiles®
to begin service in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Two
additional Breathmobiles® will begin
service in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
